Incredible off-roader! Restored. This is really a Mitsubishi Montero, known in the rest of the world as the Pajero or Shogun. This Generation 1, short wheelbase model, formed the basis for the 12 time winner of the grueling Paris-Dakar rally, held every year in January. Check this video, which showcases the off road ability of this vehicle:

It’s very rugged, with an oversized frame for the size of vehicle, protection plates for the engine, drive shaft, and fuel tank-all in good shape. While I don’t think this one has ever been off-road, it can go up to the hubs in sand due to great traction with 4 wheel drive. Options include auto locking hubs, factory AC and rear wiper. The driver’s seat has a lever to operate it on an adjustable shock absorber if the going really gets rough. 4 wheel drive low range is a 60% drop in gearing for serious climbing. Stated approach angle is 38 degrees. Overall condition is better than you could expect from something of this age. Miles are super low, because this one was stored for 13 years. When it was brought out of storage, the engine was fully serviced, a new battery was installed, and the carburetor was upgraded to a Weber. With the Weber it gets better gas mileage, and is very easy to adjust. Tuned to run at sea level. I put on 4 quality all-season tires with 85,000 mile guarantee. No engine or interior leaks. No rust. Paint is very nice. Rubber seals are good. Underneath looks good.

  1. Is this vehicle still available? We will be traveling through from Seattle to Eugene next week some time and I would like to see, drive, and talk about purchase. Email me, thanks, Larry Determan
